Tour de France

The Tour de France (English: Tour of France) is a French procycling race held over three weeks in July and one of the three Grand Tours. The jersey for the winner of the general classification is the Maillot Jaune (English: yellow jersey). La Grande Boucle, which is a nickname for the Tour, always ends on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The Tour’s first edition took place in 1903 and was won by Maurice Garin (FRA). The riders who gained the most Tour wins over the years are Jacques Anquetil (FRA), Eddy Merckx (BEL), Bernard Hinault (FRA) and Miguel Indurain (ESP), who all have won the Tour 5 times. The most recent winner is Chris Froome (GBR), who won the 103rd edition of the Tour de France in 2016. More info: Wikipedia.

In 2017, the 104th edition of the Tour de France will start in Düsseldorf in Germany, and as usual, the Tour will end in Paris.  This Grand Tour will take place from the 1st of July until the 23rd of July.
