Dutch Food Valley Classic 2012 / 17 August / Veenendaal
The Dutch Food Valley Classic (formerly known as Veenendaal-Veenendaal) is a 1.1 race on the UCI calendar and was held for the 27th time this year. The biggest teams that were present this year were Liquigas-Cannondale, Rabobank Cycling Team, Lotto-Belisol, Vacansoleil-DCM and Argos-Shimano. In the photo above you can see Tobias Ludvigsson from Argos-Shimano.
The race was 197 kilometres long and a bunch of 6 riders was leading for more than 150 kilometres, but they got caught before the finish. In the sprint Theo Bos (RAB) managed to win the Dutch classic with start and finish in Veenendaal, just like he did last year. He hugged and thanked his teammates afterwards for all the hard work they did for him during the race.
Peter Sagan (LIQ) became second in Veenendaal. He wasn’t able to beat Theo Bos in the sprint, but did finish before Mark Renshaw (RAB), Tom Veelers (ARG) and Michael van Staeyen (TSV).
