Ronde van Overijssel 2011 / 7 May / Rijssen
The Ronde van Overijssel is a small Dutch race (UCI 1.2) with start and finish in Rijssen, a place in the east of The Netherlands. This year it was a very tough race: it was warm and there was quite a lot of wind.
Tom Veelers and Albert Timmer from Skil-Shimano didn’t ride the race, but took VIPs through Overijssel in buses to share their knowledge of cycling.
The winner of the 59th edition of the Ronde van Overijssel is Wouter Haan, a 19-year-old Dutch rider from Groningen, who was able to stay away in the last kilometres of the race and crossed the finish line solo.
The podium: Jesper Asselman (Rabobank CT), Wouter Haan (Ruiter Dakkapellen) and Martin Hunal (Ac Sparta Praha).
